Dr. Stephen Shimberg
Dr. Stephen Shimberg is the Principal Dentist at Bridgewater Dental Surgery. Stephen has almost fifty years’ experience in all aspects of dentistry including Orthodontics and Oral Surgery.
Qualifying at Liverpool University he has since become one of the most recognisable names within the profession in Great Britain and greatly respected for his achievements both with his patients and within the profession as a whole. He served six years as a Director of the British Dental Association Principle Executive Committee, as well as holding office as Auditor of the Conference of Local Dental Committees. At present, he serves as Chair of West Pennine Local Dental Committee, as well as being one of the three General Dental Practice Committee reps for Greater Manchester. He also sits as a professional representative at the Performance Advisory Group for Greater Manchester Combined Authorities.
For all his good work, last year he was awarded a Lifetime Membership of the British Dental Association. A very prestigious honour indeed.
He has lectured widely on dental matters and with an interest in looking after younger professionals he attained a Post Graduate Certificate in Mentoring and Development which he puts to good use. His wise council is widely sort from all over the country.
Within the surgery he is calm and relaxing with an empathetic nature, always listening to patients and taking on board what they have to say. His Mantra has always been “Patients come First no matter what”.
Outside Dentistry Stephen enjoys reading, traveling and playing golf. He has two children and four grandchildren.
